about

Notes: Despite the snow that blankets my little corner of Maine, this is a springtime tune, or at least one in anticipation of a spring that I'm certain is nearly upon us. After all, this weekend's snowfall will need to contend with the rain in the forecast. The snow will recede and uncover that which it has concealed, and that will include the seeds of springtime's new life. My house is also filled with new life, and I come into this spring bound to the mission of encouraging it to flourish. It's a great springtime project and I have never felt so sure of my place in the world and the thing I'm doing. Amidst all this, I think I'm growing too. It will be a good spring.

lyrics

The rain will make short work of this
It's uncovering
If I melt there's a seed
Worth discovering

And I get to grow into spring
Knowing where I belong

The sun is an eye on the ground
That I'm standing on
Now my roots can dig down
And my branches can grow beyond

And I get to grow into spring
Knowing where I belong
I will wake right here where I am
