Notes: For many years, this project as been my life's work. I have a job, but I actually care about this. Though I have never missed a week in more than thirteen years, the output is less focused than it once was. That's okay. I have had to make compromises with my time in order to get along in the world. To the degree that my music has ever been less than satisfying to me, it has usually been because something that I care about far less has taken too much of my time.

I have found the rhythm of how songwriting fits into a life dominated more by work than I ever wished to allow, and now I set out to figure out how it fits into a life devoted to my little family. There's a higher mountain than Everest in front of me. It's big and beautiful and I want to climb it well. I suspect it offers views I can hardly imagine. For the first time ever, it's okay that this feels like a hobby. This song is an acknowledgement of that shift in perspective. I still love doing this and plan to make songs as long as I live. I still want to maintain my unbroken streak as an important point of pride. But I also have something far more important on my mind, and that feels really good.
