Notes: This week's song offers some ponderings on the direction of time and how we experience it. Ase we move through our various episodes and challenges, the past can become a hazy, idealized fiction. I'm often hard on the present. Am I doing this right? Are we all going to regret this or that transgression? Can't we all be doing better? We put a lot of pressure on the present because it's all we ever have to work with. The past is gone and the future is unknowable. The truth is that all we can ever do is try.
lyrics
One second or a lifetime
What's the difference?
I don't know
I tried to live among you
Move just like you
As I go
Don't believe a word about the old days
They are not pure they only came ahead of this
We are allowed our own mistakes
Some setback then ambition
Competition
I don't know
I've tried out different places
Different faces
As I go
Don't believe a word about the good times
They are not pure they only came ahead of this
We are allowed our own mistakes
