This song is a rare case where I had a title before I had a tune. Normally, the title is the absolute last thing I come up with. Sometimes having a title ahead of time reveals the lyrics, meaning, and energy of a song to me like an open book. Other times, like today, it's a good jumping off point but I'm not certain where I'm jumping. I like the song I came up with, but I'm not sure what it is. The meaning eludes me, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If I hear this song again and the meaning becomes clear, I'll be sure to post an addendum to this note for posterity. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy this song for what it says to you, whatever that may be.
