Over the weekend, I reconnected with some of my closest friends at a gathering which would have been impossible not so long ago. This is happening all over the place. Excitement and jubilation are the hallmarks of these reunions, but when the event had passed, I found myself awash in a sense of total peace. A storm had seemingly passed. I know that there is no punctuation on the pandemic. It would be foolish to assume all is well. But something is different, and in that difference I feel new.
