Notes: I had a fun time with this one. I recorded the guitar part while I was noodling out in my back yard over the weekend -- nothing fancy, just the Notes app and my iPhone's microphone. There are some scratchy low-fi artifacts, and you can hear the road and the crickets, but I like this one that way. Today, I brought it up to my workstation and added vocals. It has a bluesier vibe than I'm used to working with, so it gave me a nice opportunity to try some harmonies I wouldn't usually go for. There was a bit of menace to the chord changes, so I sang to the great enemy that has bedeviled us us this summer, which is of course the rain. Here's hoping for sunnier days ahead.
lyrics
Rain
Hell's a-comin'
Batten it before it all comes down
Lock it up tight
Nothing in or out
Keep the Devil at bay
