about

Notes: All's well that ends well, but last week was a lot to handle in my little universe. While my recent experience has been dizzy with excitement and potential, I feel like I have had to fight hard for every inch the world has given me lately. It's difficult to take the good at face value when you're in the middle of fighting for it. It's easy to be nostalgic for simpler times and suddenly remember that they weren't actually simple at all. I think this song is about slowing down to be grateful. It's also about realizing that becoming a better person and living a full life are worth all the hassle.

lyrics

Back roads all the way home
Always alone with the voices
Numbering my choices
The good, the bad I have done

And who am I?
Who is anyone?

Asking why oh why don't it feel like the old days?
Ever awake to the paces we've run
And should I ever recover my senses
I'd hardly believe all I'd won

Good times
Letting them be is a challenge to me
Ain't it the truth?
Brighter than I'm used to
The light shakes hands with the dark

And what is this?
What is anything?

Asking why oh why don't it feel like the old days?
Ever awake to the paces we've run
And should I ever recover my senses
I'd hardly believe all I'd won
