Notes: Not long ago my daily life was starved for community. I had friends not far away, but seeing them was logistically difficult to the point that it was rare. I didn't feel that I had access to the people I needed beyond my relationship to feel uplifted and supported. I have since learned that having access to supportive people is not only important, it's possible. It can seem daunting to uproot oneself for the sake of community. Many people arrange their lives around a job or some other kind of opportunity. We made the choice to arrange our lives around people instead. These days the idea seems almost radical, but it's not. It's simple, and it's worth it.
