I think at this point, most conversations that I have at least wink at (or explicitly touch upon) some apocalyptic topic or another. Simply by virtue of living in an ongoing pandemic, a sense of unease pervades. That's to say nothing of climate disaster, a permanent state of war, and the crumbling social bonds that fail to cohere a culture badly at odds with itself and its own wellbeing... amongst too many other things to mention. This is a song about longing to have only regular things to worry about.
lyrics
I got plenty of things
Weighing on my mind
Like what tomorrow brings
Like the end of time
I'm a regular man
I got normal plans
The Earth could open wide
Swallow me up inside
What about a hurricane
Probably another plague
Definitely another war
The things I can't ignore
I'm a regular man
I got normal plans
The Earth could open wide
Swallow me up inside
