Notes: I fear that the subject matter of my songs this fall might get repetitive, but I'm writing honestly and I think that counts for something. I'm still adjusting to being back in New England. I'm still in the in-between phase of an incomplete move. I'm still enamored with the natural beauty of the autumn. I'm still attempting in earnest to contextualize my new chapter against the markedly different way I spent the last decade. I'm much older than I was the last time I moved through a season quite like this one. Is it different, or am I?
lyrics
Another couple weeks like this
You know I'm doing fine
I cycle through the modes I'm in
They're easy to define
The daylight on the hill out there
It helps me tell the time
The shadows cast and turn their way
The colors crest the spine
Not quite how I remember
Maybe because I'm older
You still can't beat the weather this time of year
If only I could share with you
The moment by the water
The quiet sounds the ripples made
The cosmos that I pondered
Not quite how I remember
Maybe because I'm older
You still can't beat the weather this time of year
