Notes: Rebecca and I have a New York bucket list. We haven't done many things on it. The idea was to take advantage of our remaining days in New York, and really make the most of the opportunities afforded to us by living in the city. We checked off a few items, then we stalled out. We're not tourists. It's hard to pretend that we are. With only scant weeks remaining, we are just living. That feels right. We can't cover the whole map. We can see some friends. We can appreciate our neighborhood. We can live here just a little longer. That's good enough. Also, thanks to Rebecca for the lovely photo!
lyrics
Always in the way
Always pressing forward with things
What is left to say?
What could be worth considering?
I discovered all of this land
Mapped what I could from where I began
But I've missed some things
And I'll never fill in all the blanks
The moments bought and sold
I stand out smiling in the rain
I'm looking kind of old
To party kids on subway trains
I recover my sense of myself
My words and deeds in books on the shelf
But I've missed some things
And I'll never fill in all the blanks
