I spent a long day driving back to Brooklyn from New Hampshire so I could spend time with Rebecca on our wedding anniversary. To that end, I sat down to write this song in a bit of a hurry. I don't want to short change my weekly songwriting commitment, but I would rather be hanging with her than making up a tune right now. I'm sure you understand. That said, I wanted to mark the occasion with a bit of sentiment. This is a very quick little song, but I think I filled it up with a real feeling. I hope you like it.
lyrics
I'm thinking on the past
I figured out
It's more than stories
We tell about
The people we once were
And where we've been
The fires we put out
Or the ones we began
It's how I met you
And what we've become because of that
