about

Notes: The other day Rebecca told our building's management company that we won't be renewing our lease at the end of August. It was a mundane and necessary administrative task, but it struck me with some profundity. We have lived in this apartment for seven years. It is my most sustained home since the one in which my parents raised me. It's the only home we have made during our marriage so far. It is a rare wonderful apartment in my opinion, and we knew it the moment we saw it. It has a warm and welcoming soul. It hugs you when you come in. This is a little love song for #3C. It will be sad to part ways with it.

lyrics

My walls are covered over
I like the way they look

My time and space colliding
Pictures mean everything

I came here hoping I could
Find some balance

I am a different person
And so is everyone

There's nothing wrong with changing year to year
That's something we've got to do

My clocks all read a different time
I set them and then they drift

My walls have crooked pictures
I hang them and then they drift
