This week's song was a quick job by necessity. I'm a little under the weather and quite tired, so I challenged myself to write efficiently. Writing songs efficiently might seem counter-intuitive to some. Perhaps a different approach to songwriting, one that doesn't require a new release week after week, wouldn't have afforded me the opportunity to write this at all. As always, I'm sure it's a stepping stone to some deeper exploration. All that said, I think it came out well enough on its own merit. I wrote the words more or less in free association, so I can't claim that they hold specific meaning to me. Maybe it's about appreciating what you've got, including the agency to write your own future. Let's go with that!
