Notes: Over the years I have sung of autumn's beauty and perfection again and again, but there is one thing I'd change about it if I could. We are getting into the part of the year when it is incredibly easy to miss the daylight. I work from home, and it is not rare enough for the whole work day to elapse before I venture into the fresh air. That was the case today as I ventured outside at five in the evening and found the sky above the city dark. The air felt lovely, but I felt a melancholy I couldn't place. I didn't notice right away that I had missed the sun. Throughout the past couple of years, I have needed to be deliberate about cultivating my time outside. This time of year, we all need to be thoughtful about finding our time in the sun. It only shines on us if we let it.
lyrics
Counting up the lightning strikes
Adjusting to the fading light
Walk into the forest
Hide away
From the noise and the thoughts of the day
I am but a moment in time
I have what I hold onto
It's all mine
Walk into the forest
Hide away
From the noise and the thoughts of the day
