about

This song came out of me in one single gesture. I didn't really have to think about it, or expend much energy, or even try. It was just fun to sit and play for a little while, then listen back and hear a song that sounds pretty good to me. I'm not going to dig too deep into the text of it, as I often do. There is some insecurity and anxiety described here, but I like that they are offset by a rhythm guitar that has a little bit of giddy-up to it. I think the telecaster sounds pretty nice.

lyrics

Hey I don't know
What I'm good for
And I'm I'm a long way from knowing

I hear late at night
Howling voices
And I am like them sometimes
I'm a long way from growing up

In a dream
I am shaking
And I don't what it means
I don't know much at all
I just know when I wake up
You'll be there

Out in the air
Take the sidewalk
It could lead you somewhere

I have been on foot
I've felt the ache of it
And it don't feel very good
It turned me into some one else

In a dream
I am shaking
And I don't what it means
I don't know much at all
I just know when I wake up
You'll be there
